Appeal a parking ticket

A notice arrived, there is a discount deadline on it, and the online form wants a reason you do not have.

For anyone who has been issued a Penalty Charge Notice by a council, or a parking charge by a private operator, and thinks it is wrong.

Most parking appeals fail on presentation rather than merit. The ground is there, and the letter does not name it, or it names five and commits to none.

The two systems are different and the difference matters. A council Penalty Charge Notice runs through informal and formal representations and then an independent adjudicator. A private parking charge is a contract claim, runs through the operator, and then POPLA or the IAS depending on the trade body. We work out which you have before writing a word.

What we do

  • We read the notice and the signage evidence and tell you whether there is a ground worth running, before you pay us.
  • The appeal drafted on that ground, in the form the body you are appealing to actually expects.
  • The evidence you need listed, and how to capture it before it disappears.
  • The deadlines set out, including the discount window and what you lose by missing it.
  • If it is refused, the next stage drafted too: the adjudicator, POPLA or the IAS.

What it costs

Priced per notice. We read it free and tell you if it is not worth fighting, in which case there is nothing to pay.

Whatever the figure is, you have it in writing before any work starts, and it does not move afterwards.

Where the limits are

  • If the ticket is fair, we will say so on the first read and charge you nothing. Paying a discounted charge is often the right answer and we would rather tell you than take a fee.
  • We cannot stop a private operator issuing a claim, and we do not conduct court proceedings. If one is issued, we prepare your defence and you file it.
